"[...] the hero's impassioned cries of "Vittoria!" rang with clarion focus, while his bel canto phrasing in "E lucevan le stelle," as Mario recalled Tosca's embrace, did the job nicely. This marked the Italian tenor's Ravinia debut."

Chicago Tribune, August 1, 2011

"Italian tenor Salvatore Licitra has been well received at the Met and elsewhere for his idiomatic, dulcet-toned Cavaradossi. [...] his warm and ardent portrayal earned hearty and well-deserved kudos from his grateful admirers." The Classical Review, July 31, 2011

Salvatore Licitra recorded a brief video message for a Japanese internet blog to let people in Japan know that he and his colleagues in the music world are thinking of them in these unbelievable days of pain and devastation following the earthquakes, the tsunami and the nuclear catastrophe. He especially would like to encourage music students to keep going with their studies as "music is a language that talks to the heart of everybody in the world"!
